The Wilmington Conservatory of Fine Arts, established in 2007, proudly announces the return of its beloved holiday tradition, The Nutcracker. Following last season’s sold-out performances, this treasured production once again promises to delight audiences and has become a hallmark of Wilmington’s Christmas celebrations.
Inspired by E.T.A. Hoffmann’s enchanting tale and set to Tchaikovsky’s sweeping score, performed by the Berlin Philharmoniker Orchestra, The Nutcracker invites audiences into a world of wonder and imagination. Featuring dazzling sets, ornate period costumes, and more than 250 performers—including Wilmington Conservatory dancers, local actors, and professional guest artists.
Journey alongside Clara and her Nutcracker Prince as they battle the fierce Rat Queen and enter the delectable Land of the Sweets, and watch the stage come alive as the snowflakes fill the theater with winter magic. From the lavish Stahlbaum Christmas party to the graceful Waltz of the Flowers and the grandeur of the Sugar Plum Fairy and her Cavalier, each scene unfolds with dazzling beauty and festive cheer for the entire family.
As Wilmington Conservatory of Fine Arts celebrates its twentieth season in the ILM community, it is honored to continue sharing productions that inspire and uplift.
