Mike Campbell is known for his founding and lead guitar role in Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers, co-writing and co-producing many of their original albums, in addition to penning songs for Don Henley, Bob Dylan, Stevie Knicks, and supporting records by Aretha Franklin, Roy Orbison, and Johnny Cash. After his days with Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, Campbell pieced together a close-knit collective of musicians and fellow travelers, now known as Mike Campbell & The Dirty Knobs.
In addition to Campbell, The Dirty Knobs features fellow Heartbreaker Steve Ferrone on drums, Chris Holt (Don Henley, The Eagles) on guitar and Lance Morrison (Don Henley) on bass.
