Intern Spotlight: Polly Sommers

Polly Sommers headshot

Polly Sommers is a junior at North Carolina State University. She is majoring in communication with a double minor in business administration and psychology. She is honored to be a Marketing and Social Media Intern at the Wilson Center. She is looking forward to taking on a bigger role by gaining essential marketing knowledge and skills. As a dancer herself and avid supporter of the arts, she is thrilled to have the opportunity to promote a performing arts hall like The Wilson Center. She loves being surrounded by staff and fellow students that want to help her succeed and have similar passions.

Currently, Polly is a Salon Coordinator at PS Salon and Spa at The Cardinal in Raleigh, NC. On a daily basis, she uses customer service skills, arranges the schedule, and maintains proper inventory to ensure the clients have an optimal experience. She is also a group fitness instructor at NC State’s Gymnasium. She teaches Hip-Hop, Dance Cardio, and Cycling classes weekly. Recently, Polly became involved with Rusty’s Rescue Ranch, a nonprofit animal rehabilitation facility, and has helped promote their organization and events. While in college, she was nominated as Homecoming Chair and helped organize and choreograph her sorority’s Homecoming dance performance. She also worked at The Workshop Coffeeshop on Wrightsville Beach and is a coffee fanatic!

In her free time, Polly enjoy walks on the beach with her family, cuddling with her cats, and exploring restaurants with her friends!

“I thank The Wilson Center for this opportunity and am ready to give it my all!”
